Press release:

LONG ISLAND COACHING ALLIANCE NEW LEADERSHIP INSTALLED:

New York, March 3, 2008 — At the onset of the year, the Long Island Coaching Alliance installed its new executive leadership team. Strongly committed to building and preserving the integrity of the coaching profession on Long Island, the new leadership team developed a solid strategy for the professional arena of coaches.

“My first goal as president is to reach out to the Long Island public and educate the community about coaching and how individuals can work with a coach to create more focus, intention, and satisfaction — however they define that — in their personal and professional lives,” said Paul McGinniss, president. “My second goal is to offer Long Island coaches an environment where they can tap into resources that support and contribute to their success.”

With diverse backgrounds, areas of expertise, and coaching niches, the leadership team members complement one another and build off of each other’s strengths. The 2008 executive board is comprised of: president, Paul McGinniss, Response-Able Consulting Inc.; vice president, Catherine Blake, A Better Life with Coaching and Hypnosis; secretary/treasurer, Rita Maniscalco, Something Within; program director, Elizabeth Cassidy, Branching Out Life Coaching; regulatory affairs liaison, Tom O’Reilly, Solutions Today For A Better Tomorrow; and marketing and public relations director, Lisa-Michelle Kucharz, Ace the Race, LLC.

The Long Island Coaching Alliance is the local chapter of the International Coach Federation (ICF), which advances the art, science, and practice of professional coaching. The ICF has more than 13,000 members in 80 countries. Long Island Coaching Alliance members are qualified coaching professionals that partner with individuals, groups, and organizations in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to make effective changes and maximize their potentials.

“Our leadership team can play an important role in moving the coaching profession forward on Long Island,” said Catherine Blake, vice president. “It is a privilege to work with such a dedicated group of professionals.”

“Coaching creates a support system which facilitates forward movement toward goal achievement,” said Rita Maniscalco, secretary/treasurer. “Coaches provide new perspectives, help clients create simple strategies and define specific action steps, and act as accountability partners.”

With the development of the coaching profession in recent years, many Long Islanders have dedicated themselves to helping others get more out of life through coaching.

“I want people on Long Island to know about the benefits of working with coaches,” said Elizabeth Cassidy, programs/education/pofessional development director. “I started my coaching practice with the belief that women can embrace change, fine tune their intuitive skills, and bravely move forward to exciting new chapters in their lives. If you have a dream or goal, a coach could help you get closer to achieving it. There is nothing better than knowing that someone is in your corner who believes you can achieve your goals.”

“My life has been blessed with positive role models who were always there for me,” said Tom O’Reilly, regulatory affairs liaison. “I wish to send this positive energy back into the universe for those who want to benefit from my experiences.”

The Long Island Coaching Alliance is comprised of professionals from a wide variety of coaching specialties: life coaching, career coaching, business coaching, coaching for those with physical disabilities, workplace coaching, executive coaching, transition coaching, group coaching, organization coaching, relationship coaching, teen coaching, spiritual coaching, and more. Its members strive to help their clients achieve extraordinary and fulfilling results.

“It’s great to be part of the Long Island Coaching Alliance’s executive leadership team,” said Lisa-Michelle Kucharz, marketing and public relations director. “Helping increase awareness about the benefits of coaching is a rewarding way to give back to the community. Helping people achieve their goals and make their dreams come true is what coaching is all about.”

The Long Island Coaching Alliance meets the first Tuesday of every month from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m., at the Maine Maid Inn, 4 Old Jericho Turnpike, Jericho, New York. For more information about the Long Island Coaching Alliance, visit www.licoachingalliance.org.
